Oil Filter Housing Gasket, OEM - E8X, E9X, F10, F22, F25, F3X, F8X

A leak from the oil filter housing gasket may be the most common oil leak on any BMW. Nearly every BMW 6-cylinder from 2006 up to today will have a leaking oil filer housing gasket - including all E82, E85, E89, E90, E91, E92, E93, F10, F13, F22, F25, F26, F30, F31, F32, F33, F34, F36, F80, F82, and F87. The oil filter housing is bolted to the engine block with this profile gasket in between. Over time the profile gasket shrinks and hardens and begins to leak.

Because of the location of this gasket, it's best to plan the replacement to coincide with other routine maintenance - serpentine belt change, belt tensioners, oil cooler lines, alternator replacement, etc. Most of these parts need to be removed to access the oil filter housing. If your car is equipped with a factory oil cooler, the profile gasket for the oil cooler thermostat should also be replaced (BMW part #11428637820, see below).

This oil filter housing gasket is used on nearly every BMW 4 or 6-cylinder engine since 2006, including - N20, N26, N51, N52, N54, N55, and S55.
