Valve Cover Gasket Set, OEM - M235i/335i/435i/535i, X3/X4/X5/X6, M2/M3/M4

This is the OEM valve cover gasket set for 2011+ 135i, M235i/M2, 335i, 435i, 535i, 640i, 740i, X3/X4/X5/X6 35i models with the Twin Scroll N55 turbo engine and M2/M3/M4 models with the S55 engine. The valve cover is sealed to the cylinder head with these gaskets and they prevent oil from leaking out of the top of the engine. Oil leaks make the engine bay messy, rob the internals of precious lubrication, and could do damage to external sensors or hardware in the engine bay. Leaks can also affect the internal pressure and vacuum of the valve cover.

Note: the original N55 valve cover is a plastic composite and is known to crack or deform over time. Oil leaks may not be coming from the gaskets and may be due to a failure of the valve cover itself. Complete valve covers with gaskets and hardware are also available and may be a better choice.

Any overhaul of the valve cover, or related components, should also include a new valve cover gasket. Note that this set includes the upper spark plug recess gaskets but not the lower. The lower gaskets (#11127589830) are not accessible without removing the spark plug recesses (not typically done unless disassembling the cylinder head entirely). They are available separately.

This is an OEM N55 valve cover gasket set manufactured by Elring - one of the original suppliers to BMW for this part, as well as many other gaskets and seals. As the OEM it meets all of BMW's original design, fitment, and performance requirements and is TUV approved. OEM parts are the best alternative to more expensive Original BMW parts because they are virtually identical without the inflated price tag. This part has a two year warranty.
