This part is listed by BMW as BMW part number 11127593376 (11 12 7 593 376) and is described as the M7x39mm stud for the exhaust manifold on N51/N52, N54, N55, S55, N20/N26 engines used in 135i, M235i, 335i, 435i, 535i, 640i, 740i, X1, X3, X4, X5, X6, Z4, and other models. This stud has a Torx tip to make installation easier. Sold per stud. 

The quantity of studs used varies with engine type. The list below shows the quantity required for each engine:

N20/N26 = 10 Exhaust Studs
N51/N52/N54 = 16 Exhaust Studs
N55 = 15 Exhaust Studs
S55 = 19 Exhaust Studs

Exhaust studs are a common replacement item - they are easily ruined by rust, oil, and other chemicals. They are easily cross-threaded into the cylinder head or from the copper nut. And the nut and stud often come out together with the nut seized to the threads.
