Genuine BMW Engine Cap Nut 11121401517

This is a Genuine BMW Cap Nut, with a size of M6x1.0, used on the engine top cover on S54 engines, as well as various other locations, mostly for M models. They have a sort of high-polish finish to them, unlike other simple fasteners one might find, which makes them a bit special.
On S54 powered E46 M3 / MZ3 / MZ4 models, there are six of these decorative (but necessary) engine cap nuts. They hold the top plastic "beauty" cover onto the cylinder head / valve cover. If you are replacing the plastic engine cover and want fresh and shiny hardware, buying six of these is a nice investment on a future-classic like the E46 M3. 

On the S62 powered E39 M5 and Z8 Roadster, there are a whopping 15 of these polished cap nuts securing the engine plastics to the top of the engine. 

This is also used in other locations on other BMWs as well.
