Genuine BMW Cam Fit Bolt - 11361748745 - M52tu M54 M56 - E39 E46 E53 E83 E85

This part is listed by BMW as BMW part number 11361748745 (11 36 1 748 745) and is described as a VANOS mounting screw, also known as a "Fit Bolt". It was used on M52TU, M54, and M56 engines found in various BMW chassis including the E39 5 series, E46 3 series, first generation X5 3.0 liter (E53), first generation BMW X3 (E83), and E85 Z4 models.

This torx bolt is used on the M52tu and M54 camshaft and vanos. In the BMW catalog it's known simply as the "fit bolt". It's a proprietary bolt made specifically for one purpose. It's left-hand thread which is reverse of the usual threads and it's not unusual for this to be stretched or snapped when being removed.

Sold individually. There are two of these per engine / car, one for each cam shaft of the engine.  

Note on E39 528i & Z3 2.8 liter - Only for cars with "tu" technical update engine, as found in 1999 and 2000 models, those with 2.8 liter M52tu engine.
