This high quality replacement N20 Valve Cover kit offers super strong quality and as well as a strong value, especially when compared to the factory BMW part number 11127588412 (11-12-7-588-412). This kit, from the URO premium parts line, installs and functions just like the Genuine kit, but at a substantial cost savings without compromising longevity or quality.

Please note: This kit is NOT for the SULEV model (N26). Only for N20 non-SULEV engine.

If your 2012, 2013, 2014 or 2015 N20 powered BMW is in need of a valve cover gasket replacement, you should be aware the factory valve cover is a composite (plastic) design, unlike older engine designs which commonly used a aluminum valve cover. This means that with age, mileage, and thousands of heat cycles, the plastic valve cover will become brittle and frail, and will likely develop cracks and oil leaks. It's for this reason that BMW recommends replacing the complete N20 valve cover assembly with new gaskets and seal rings, rather than just replacing the gasket as you might on earlier BMW engines.

This particular valve cover and gasket kit is a premium aftermarket version which we at BimmerWorld found to be of an impressive manufacturing quality.  This can be used to replace the valve cover on all F3X 320i, 320xi, 328i and 328xi (including F30, F31, and F34 GT models), the 428i (F32, F33, F36 GC chassis), the F22 228i and 228i xDrive, - all with the N20 BMW engine. It comes fully loaded with all the parts needed for a valve cover gasket service on these 4 cylinder turbo engines.

Valve cover and valve cover gasket failure is quite common on these cars. It usually happens right around 100k miles, though its been known to strike earlier. Are you getting a smell of burning oil while driving or while idling at a drive-thru with your windows down? This may be due to your valve cover gasket weeping oil onto your hot exhaust manifold. Not only does this risk running your BMW low on oil, it's also known to start engine fires and safety concerns. Another failure relates to the plastic tabs that hold the  PCV valve in place snapping or cracking off. Replacement of the valve cover (with new gaskets and hardware) is the proper fix in these cases.
