This OEM replacement N26 Valve Cover is the complete valve cover overhaul that includes the gaskets, oil cap, breather, vent pipe, and hardware.

Please note: This kit is ONLY for the SULEV N26 Engine. NOT for N20 non-SULEV engine.

If your N26 powered BMW is in need of a valve cover gasket replacement, you should be aware the factory valve cover is a composite (plastic) design, unlike older engine designs which commonly used a aluminum valve cover. This means that with age, mileage, and thousands of heat cycles, the plastic valve cover will become brittle and frail, and will likely develop cracks and oil leaks. It's for this reason that BMW recommends replacing the complete N26 valve cover assembly with new gaskets and seal rings, rather than just replacing the gasket as you might on earlier BMW engines.

Valve cover and valve cover gasket failure is quite common on these cars. It usually happens right around 100k miles, though its been known to strike earlier. Are you getting a smell of burning oil while driving or while idling at a drive-thru with your windows down? This may be due to your valve cover gasket weeping oil onto your hot exhaust manifold. Not only does this risk running your BMW low on oil, it's also known to start engine fires and safety concerns. Another failure relates to the plastic tabs that hold the  PCV valve in place snapping or cracking off. Replacement of the valve cover (with new gaskets and hardware) is the proper fix in these cases.

This is a new OEM valve cover for 2013+ F22 228i, F30 328i, F32 428i with the N26 SULEV engine. This new cylinder head cover includes a new outer gasket, inner spark plug hole gaskets, hardware, oil cap, and crankcase breather.
