This black plastic cable holder is specific to the M50 and S50 (US) engine wiring harness and helps keep the ignition coil wiring more tidy where it combines and passes over the engine's valve cover. Because the piece is plastic and in an area that sees elevated temperatures and high heat, this cable management piece becomes brittle and often breaks over time. It's even MORE common to simply break this cable holder when changing either the spark plugs or ignition coils. If that's why you are here.... we've all been there! 

A new cable holder helps resolve having wiring unmanaged and not routed properly. This is a Genuine BMW part, so you can be assured it's the best fit and will likely last just as long as the original cable management holder did.
