Power Steering Pulley, BMW - E82 135i/1m, E9X 335i, N54

This part is listed by BMW as BMW part number 32427553955 (32 42 7 553 955) and is described as the power steering pump pulley for N54 twin-turbo models - E82 135i and 1M Coupe, and E90/E92/E93 335i / 335xi / 335is. This pulley can be used on vehicles with or without the active steering option. The factory pulley is made of plastic and can form cracks or chips that can weaken the pulley and possibly lead to total failure. A broken PS pump pulley will fling sharp plastic around your engine bay and possibly even shred the belt (leading to belt ingestion).

In some cases the engine and pulley can contact the lower subframe, such as over sharp bumps. Worn engine mounts make this more likely. A pulley that contacts the subframe should be replaced as soon as possible as it's strutcutal integrity is now highly questionable.
