these turbos will work on all models listed below with N63 or N63TU engines. However, we need to know your exact year and model when placing an order. Vargas will build your turbos for your specific application (N63 uses diverter valves, N63TU uses Valvetronic instead).
Stage 1 N63 upgrade uses a new stock turbine wheel but upgrades the compressor (intake) side to a custom VTT billet wheel. The compressor wheel and housing are all custom cast to Vargas specs but appear stock. The new compressor and turbine bolt onto the stock manifold for an easy install (new seals recommended). Keeping the stock turbine gives near-stock throttle response and lag response and works better under higher boost levels. The Stage 1 works great as a OEM replacement that does not have to work as hard to make power (producing less heat). Vargas rates this turbo up to 800whp.
Turning up the boost is easy but puts greater strain on the stock turbos and generates more heat while straining support systems to keep up. Going to a bigger turbo obviously can generate more boost but it's usually the heat that kills boost and performance, not a lack of size. The higher temperatures spread throughout the rest of the engine and accessories, further straining the oil and cooling systems (which are really undersized to begin with). It's also not good for the life of the turbo. Using a mild upgrade such as Stage 1 can handle increased boost with less effort and heat. Add a reflash to the ECU(s) to match the turbos and you can achieve big power gains with a safer and more reliable platform
A $1,000 core charge has been added to the price shown. This charge can be refunded upon the return of your rebuildable original turbos. You can avoid the core charge altogether by sending your original turbos in for the upgrade. We recommend new seals, gaskets, and oil lines, just like with the factory turbos. See kits below.

These turbos are built to order and depend on the availability of cores. Typical build time is 4-6 weeks.
