Keeps check engine and fault codes off when racing without cats.
Removing and deleting catalytic converters is standard practice on race and track cars. But this presents a problem with the engine computer (ECU). Since catalytic converter efficiency is monitored to control emissions, deleting cats results in check engine lights and fault codes, which may disqualify you from race results. We have specific racing software that we usually run but in rare cases where software is not allowed (autocross, SOLO, or some Touring classes) this O2 simulator is the answer.
The Simulator is designed to replace the post-catalyst oxygen sensor after deleting or removing the catalytic converters. The O2 simulator sends a signal to the ECU just like a properly-operating stock O2 sensor would, ensuring that the check engine light stays off. The ECU thinks a catalytic converter is in place and will not trigger a fault code.
Removing or disabling emissions equipment and/or installing devices that trick the ECU on a pollution-controlled road vehicle is illegal. This product is sold only for racing, competition, track, or other off-road use. It's use is prohibited in any motor vehicle that is subject to emissions inspection or control. It is not legal for sale or use in California on any pollution-controlled motor vehicle.
