The Rogue Engineering E46 M3 X Pipe is the most free flowing mid-pipe available for the E46 M3 - improving exhaust flow and making the exhaust slightly louder. With the electronic dump valve included with this kit the sound can even be adjusted on the fly - stock-like sound with the valve completely closed to race bike loud when completely open. Rogue designed this center section to work with a dump valve and be controlled from the driver's seat. You have full control of the exhaust volume and flow by using any variable position on the valve, and it takes less than 3 seconds between fully open and fully closed.
The Rogue section 2 midpipe will eliminate the factory resonator ahead of the rear muffler. Without the resonator there to dampen the sound the overall volume will be louder. Combine this section 2 pipe with the Rogue front section to eliminate rasp or run it with the stock or Supersprint section 1 for more rasp. It's perfect for getting just a little more volume from your stock exhaust without changing the muffler.
Rogue Engineering designed this section 2 to equally merge exhaust velocity from the two factory pipes in section 1. Instead of using two pipes with an "H" crossover and small resonator, lacks velocity, the RE X-pipe maximizes gas velocity by merging the two smaller tubes into one large 76mm tube. This allows the gas velocity to equalize from cylinders 1-3 and 4-6 before entering the muffler. Plus, the RE X-Pipe creates a proper vacuum between exhaust pulses for improved gas velocity and sound. This is truly race-inspired stuff! An H-pipe would only balance cylinder pressure without improving flow.
