This lubricant is applied to inner o-rings and seals of cooling hoses, water hoses, radiator hoses, axle boots, and other fittings that may use quick-connect fittings instead of slip-on ends. The tightness of a quick-connect fitting is essential to sealing and some interference or effort is required. This lubricant is especially designed for rubber o-rings and plastic connectors and is a better lubricant than antifreeze, coolant, or straight water. It's also water miscible and environmentally friendly.
Is a lubricant required when installing hoses? Yes! Some lubrication is needed to avoid damaging inner o-rings and seals. Improper installation technique can dislodge the o-ring or rip it entirely, creating a leak even on a new part.
