BMW 0W20 LL17 FE+ engine oil is designed for SULEV (Super Ultra Low Emissions Vehicles) models and others that put a premium on high efficiency and fuel economy. FE+ stands for Fuel Economy Plus and is BMW's specification for lower viscosity oils with factory-approved additives for extended life. This is the LL17 specification, released ~2018. Sold per liter.
The 0W20 is not just a fuel efficient and low emissions formula. The weight is advantageous for modern vehicles that see city, town, and stoplight driving with frequent Stop/Start activation. The 0W20 is BMW-approved for all B46A, B46D, B48, B58A, B58C, B58D, N20, and N26 engines. This covers most four and six-cylinder engines (not Motorsport) introduced from 2016-2023.
BMW oil formulations change over time and part numbers are superseded. We buy often and in small-ish batches so our oil is always fresh and the latest formula from BMW (not old stock). This oil is compatible with, or replaces, BMW part numbers 83212461988, 83212457111, 83212365954, 83215A2AFC5, 83212463695, 83212405949, 83215A2AFC7. It's the new LL17 specification that replaces the previous LL14 for the US market (minor differences in formula).
