This part is listed by BMW as BMW part number 32416782538 (32 41 6 782 538) and is described as a replacement power steering fluid tank for E60/E61 5-series, E63 645ci/650i, E65/E66 745i/750i/760Li, and E70 X5 3.0si, X5 4.8i, and X5 35d. This tank is only for vehicles equipped with either Dynamic Drive or Active Steering.

Fluid Note: these vehicles use hydraulic fluid (CHF, EHF) and not “power steering fluid” or ATF oil. The Dynamic Drive and Active Steering systems share the same fluid as the power steering pump and these systems require hydraulic fluid. It is vital that you use the correct fluid as the two cannot be mixed.
