CAN-Bus Plug and Play Adapter, 4-pin, Switched Ignition - E46, E39, Z3, Z4, MINI R50/R52/R53

This harness is a direct plug in to the CAN-Bus system on E46, E39, Z3, Z4, and MINI R50/R52/R53 models. This allows your data system to capture CAN signals and data without custom or messy wiring splices. This plug simply connects to the steering angle sensor plug on your steering column hub. The pigtail Deutsch DTM connector can then be connected to your data recorder (AiM, AEM, Motec, RaceCapture/Pro, etc.). A custom harness will need to be created from your data recorder to the 4-pin Deutsch DTM connector included on the harness. But this saves you most of the trouble of de-pinning or splicing into complicated factory wiring!

This version includes a power tap to the factory wiring for the steering angle sensor. This version uses switched ignition power (ignition must be on for power to flow). Another version is available with constant power. This circuit has 2.5-3.5A of available power (it's rated for 5A) which makes it perfect to host the sensor and most other data accessories you might have, such as a AiM Solo DL or camera. Check the power consumption of your devices to ensure the total draw will not exceed 5A. Note that since this harness fits multiple vehicles the power consumption on this circuit varies. I.E. - you may not have as much power available as you think you do. Always check your power sources and draw before proceeding. You definitely don't want the steering angle sensor fuse to blow at any time (especially mid-corner).
