The AiM SmartyCam establishes the vital link between high-resolution video and on-screen data in one package designed specifically for motorsports. From its conception, the goal with SmartyCam was to create a truly visual data tool that would provide stunning video quality with integrated on-screen feedback and data to ultimately make you go faster on the racetrack.

The “4” is the fourth generation of cameras from AiM and an evolution of the wildly popular and useful Smartycam line. The 4 advances technology further with amazing video quality and new data overlays. SmartyCam4 can integrate with your ECU and other AiM sensors for record data along with video.

Video Quality & Technology
The SC4 continues with the big advancements from the SC3 - a global shutter CMOS imager for a clear picture and brilliantly sharp race footage. Plus an exclusive seven-element optics package so that your race footage, day or night, looks brighter and sharper than ever before. To be sure your video plays back exactly the way you saw it on track, a hybrid infrared filter keeps clarity-robbing light out for more accurate, uniform colors.

SmartyCam has a built-in three-axis accelerometer to instantly and automatically bring the system to life, tells it when to start and stop, and even when to power down to conserve battery life**. The internal memory even has tracks saved so it will automatically recognize the track you're on.

AiM has pioneering video and data stream management firmware. Through better programming, they were able to make files smaller. Generic HD cameras are focused on the highest pixels number, resulting in files that are far too large and take up too much memory. SmartyCam 3 videos have the same quality as other FHD cameras but their files are smaller because the H.264 compression system parameters have been optimized to perfectly balance video quality and file size.

AiM's RaceStudio software is available for iPhone and Android smartphones. Control camera settings and and view CAN data from your phone! Camera settings including framing, frame rate, image flip and more can be easily adjusted right from your phone. All data from the connected loggers can be viewed in real time on your smartphone when paired with the SmartyCam 4. Connection is via USB, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth.

Specifications & Details:

*requires a separate GPS-equipped AiM product (GPS module or AiM dash)
** the internal battery is really just for temporary use while the main 12v power is off. A hardwired power supply through the Binder connector is basically required.
*** Our default preference for a AiM CAN data cable is 2 meters, however 4 meter is also available.
