If you run a M4 GT4 you must run a fuel bladder and not the factory fuel tank from the road car. Racing fuel bladders allow the use of a better fuel pump, anti-starvation, protection from impacts and rollovers, and quick re-fueling. But they have a pre-determined lifespan that should not be overlooked. Any signs of damage or leaks is a concern for your personal safety and those you race with.
A fuel cell (bladder) is FIA-certified for a five year window from the date of manufacture. And then there is a two year extension available (not guaranteed). Most racing organizations will have text that addresses the use of fuel cells (usually tied to the FIA rules). If your tech inspector is paying attention they may not let you compete with an expired fuel tank. This fuel bladder is compliant with FIA regulations but is not homologated by the FIA, SRO, or any other organization - you may need an exemption to use this if racing under the original GT4 homologation.
We partnered with Fuel Safe, an American manufacturer of fuel cells, to re-create the factory GT4 fuel bladder. This is the same part in all major features including capacity, and is compliant with FIA FT3-1999, but at a major cost savings. Another important feature is that our tanks have not been sitting on a shelf for years.
