Evolution Racewerks Intake Upper Charge Pipe - F10 535i, F06/F13 640i, E70/F15 X5 35i, E71/F16 X6 35i
Replacement chargepipe won't crack under pressure
Have you experienced a cracked or broken lower intake pipe on a 2011+ F10 535i, F06/F13 640i, E70/F15 X5 35i, E71/F16 X6 35i? This is the lifetime solution you need to avoid broken chargepipes, reduced power, or being left stranded due to a failed part. This part replaces BMW part numbers 13717588268, 13717609811, 13718626487. Because of the strength and superior flow you may also notice a small improvement in throttle response.
This all-aluminum intake pipe is the lower portion of the air duct running from the front intercooler to an upper pipe on 2014-2018 F15 X5 35i with the N55 turbo six-cylinder engine. This pipe is a known weak point with numerous reports of cracks and complete failures, even on completely stock vehicles with stock boost. And for cars with added boost the complete upper and lower sections need to be replaced to avoid total failure and boost leaks from the factory plastic intake tubes.
The problem with the original factory ducts is that they're made of plastic. While being good for the initial reliability and performance, the plastic does not hold up well when exposed to heat and chemicals over time. This alloy upper tube is made from 6061 aluminum, CNC machined and has superior flow characteristics.
The ER N55 Charge Pipe is available in 3 finish options. Mirror Polish, Type III Hard Black Anodizing, or Brushed Aluminum. An added benefit of the Type III Hard Black Anodizing is that it hardens the aluminum piping and makes it more durable against accidental damage (like dropping the pipe).
This is the upper portion only. See Related Items below for the matching lower section.
