This is the fuel filter and pressure regulator assembly for the E60 525i/530i, E60 545i/550i, E63 645ci/650i. The filter should be replaced as part of a regular maintenance program. A clogged fuel filter will usually cause hard starting, drivability issues, and even lean condition fault codes. It could also cause more severe damage to fuel injectors, fuel pump, or even internal engine damage if fuel shortage issues are not solved quickly. A fuel filter is cheap insurance and not to be overlooked!
This is an OEM fuel filter manufactured by Bosch - the original supplier to BMW for this part, as well as many other engine components.
