Fuel Pump, Internal, Hella - E30 318i

This internal fuel pump is for the 1989-1993 E30 318i/318is models.

This is the fuel pump only - the original module/assembly will need to be disassembled to install the new pump. A new electrical plug will need to be spliced to your car's wiring unless it has already been converted.

Few systems on your car go bad without warning but a fuel pump is one of them. Luckily the Original BMW fuel pumps last a long time and it might only have to be replaced once in a car's lifetime. The pump is either working or it's not. If power gets to the pump but no fuel is going through it's likely contaminated or old fuel clogging the pump internals. But most hard starting or no start issues can be traced to an electrical fault in the fuel system - a bad relay, fuse, or a related system that cuts power to the pump (EWS anti-theft for example). The fuel pump is often misdiagnosed so it's critical to have a professional diagnose the problem before throwing parts and money at it. Pumps that have been installed cannot be returned for a refund.
