If you are doing any work on the in-tank fuel pump on your N54 powered E60/E61 5 series, we recommend getting a new fuel pump filter. This filter acts as a very important screen around your fuel pump, to keep gas contaminants OUT of your high pressure fuel supply. The fuel delivery system on the twin turbo 535i is extremely critical to your engine operation. If this filter gets clogged or damaged, it can creates problems with costly fixes. Preventatively changing this in-tank fuel filter may just save you thousands in added repairs or headaches down the road. This is especially true of modified E60 535i & 535xi models, where there is little margin for error of fuel supply at full boost and hard acceleration.
