This pump is responsible for creating vacuum for the brake booster and exhaust flaps.
This pump also serves as a drive for the HPFP (High Pressure Fuel Pump). The HPFP mounts to the top of the vacuum pump, and is driven by a small camshaft inside the vacuum pump.
