The E36 328i/M3, 1997-1998 E39 528i, and Z3 2.8 intake manifold is sealed to the cylinder head with this gasket. Never use a damaged gasket and reusing old gaskets is an invitation for trouble later on. Leaks from a bad gasket will allow unmetered and unfiltered air into the engine, which can cause poor running, stumbling, throttle surges, and misfires. This is a high quality aftermarket gasket made by Victor Reinz and has a two year warranty.
