This is the M50/S50, M60, and M70 intake air temp sensor (IAT sensor) for E36 325i, M3, E34 530i/540i that sends intake temperature data to the ECU so it can correct for abnormally high or low intake temps. It's typically located in the intake manifold but may be in the airbox assembly on some models. This sensor is critical for peak engine performance and fuel economy.
This is often listed as BMW part number 13621725323 (13621725323) and is also used to replace obsolete sensor 13621725324 (13 62 1 725 324) as well.
This part is manufactured by an aftermarket supplier of European auto parts, including many sensors. While not carrying OEM status, this part follows the design of the original very closely and uses similar materials. An aftermarket part may even have the same TUV approval as its OEM counterpart. The brand may even be OEM to another manufacturer besides BMW. This aftermarket brand has a two year warranty - the same as Genuine BMW and OEM brands.
