This is the intake air temp sensor, as used on BMW M50/S50, M60, and M70 engines, often call the IAT sensor. This particular temp sensor was used on the 1992-1995 E36 325i, the 1995 M3 3.0 liter, 1991-1995 E34 525i (M50), 1993-1995 E34 530i/540i (M60 V8). It sends the air temperature reading from the intake to the ECU/DME so it can correct for higher or lower intake temps. It's typically located in the intake manifold but may be in the airbox assembly on some models.
This is a Genuine BMW part, so you can be assured of top quality, finest precision, and a temp sensor that lasts a long time (like your orginal IAT most likely did). This sensor is critical for peak engine performance and fuel economy. A fault IAT can leave your BMW struggling to make power, or trigger check engine lights and rough running conditions.
This is often listed as BMW part number 13621725324 (13 62 1 725 324) and is also used to replace obsolete sensor 13621725323 (13621725323) as well.
