Original plastic intake chargepipes are a common weak point on cars with higher mileage, tuning, or lack of care and maintenance. Plastic will eventually fail, even on fully stock, unmodified cars. The chargepipe can fail in several locations: the connection at either end and along the plastic tube of the chargepipe itself.
