The turbocharged B58A engine in your BMW is built to perform reliably and efficiently, but the engineers still left some room for improvement. Upgrading the charge-air piping has 2 main benefits:

Improved Reliability: BMW B-Series engines use a plastic pipe to route combustion air from the turbocharger to the top-mount intercooler. The factory plastic pipe is a common failure point. With age and constant heat cycles, the plastic becomes brittle and develops cracks, resulting in boost leaks, check engine lights, and poor running conditions. Included installation hardware, seals, and a set of robust 3-ply silicone couplers prevents air leaks, adding extreme durability under heavy loads.

Increased Performance: Replacing the molded plastic charge-air pipe with a smooth aluminum FTP charge pipe improves throttle response and reduces turbo lag. The charge pipe also features a pair of 1/8" NPT threaded ports for water/methanol injection.

This kit is designed to fit BMW F22/F23 M240i (2016-2021), F30/F34 340i (2016-2018), F32/F33/F36 440i (2016-2020), G30 540i (2017-2019), G01 X3 M40i (2018-2019), and G02 X4 M40i (2018-2019).
