The turbocharged B58D engine in your BMW is built to perform reliably and efficiently, but the engineers still left some room for improvement. Upgrading the intake-air piping has 2 main benefits:

Improved Reliability: BMW B-Series engines use a plastic pipe to route combustion air from the intake airbox to the turbocharger. The factory plastic pipe is a common failure point. With age and constant heat cycles, the plastic becomes brittle and develops cracks, resulting in air leaks, check engine lights, and poor running conditions. Included installation hardware, o-ring seal, and a robust 3-ply silicone coupler prevents air leaks, adding extreme durability under heavy loads.

Increased Performance: Replacing the molded plastic intake-air pipe with a smooth aluminum FTP inlet pipe improves turbocharger response, adds mid-range power, and eliminates the factory intake resonator/sound generator, if originally equipped.

This kit is designed to fit BMW G42 M240i (2022+), G20 M340i B58D (2019+), G22/G23/G26 M440i B58D (2021+), and G29 Z4 M40i (2019-2025).
