This RIGHT side (passenger side) fog lamp assembly is for the early pre-facelift model E46 3 series sedan and wagon. After 2001, the E46 sedan got a facelift and used different fog lights, so be sure to only buy this fog light for the 1999, 2000 or 2001 models with the non-facelift style front bumper.
