Tail Light Bulb Socket - E38 740i 740il 750iL (1999-2001)

This part is listed by BMW as BMW part number 63218381243 (63 21 8 381 243) and is described as tail light bulb socket for the later model (1999, 2000 and 2001 model year) BMW 740i, 740iL, and 750iL. 

Starting in the 1999 model year, BMW began using this proprietary tail light bulb socket. Unfortunately it's not available in OEM/OE or aftermarket. The upside is that this Genuine BMW bulb socket is manufactured to operate as designed and last a long time like most of the the original ones did. 

Not for 7 series before the 1999 model year. This tail light bulb socket is specific to 1999, 2000 and 2001 (facelift) E38 7 series. Cars before 1999 used a different bulb socket.
