These strut adapter sleeves are the same as those that came with your MCS coilover struts but with a key difference: these are cambered internally to gain additional negative front camber, increasing the negative range achievable from your camber plates. The sleeve is machined with an angle relative to the front upright, shifting the relationship of the strut to the spindle. The result is similar in approach to a BMW camber correcting spindle. The camber gained will depend on application, but typically expect to gain 0.7-1.0° of negative camber (meaning your camber plate will now have that additional amount of negative camber through its adjustment range).
If you need more front negative camber but don't want to notch your chassis strut tower (or can't because your strut brace interferes), these are a must-have! If you're not maxing out your camber plate, or the nut is not contacting the strut tower currently, you probably don't need these.
There are some critical considerations to using cambered sleeves:
1. Tilting the top of the front spindle and wheel bearing inward will reduce the clearance between the strut and wheel/tire. In our test application, the tire moved approximately 3mm closer to the strut. If you do not have wheel spacers now, you may need them. If you have a wheel spacer now, you may need a bigger one.
2. These cambered sleeves will reduce the amount of positive camber available. You could have the opposite issue where now the strut is contacting the outer strut tower, keeping you too far into the negative camber range. This would be more typical for softly-sprung cars and those focused on street use where lateral loading and tire grip is typically lower.
These replace the existing “0 degree” sleeves that were included with every MCS coilover strut for E82 1M, F87, G87, E90, E92, F80, G80, F82, and G82. These sleeves do NOT fit non-M cars with smaller ID front uprights.
There is no change to caster with these.
Fits ONLY MCS (Motion Control Suspension) coil over struts.
