This is a Safety Battery Cable (SBK, in German) which has a fuseable link that permanently disconnects the battery in the event of an accident or airbag deployment. If the fused link in your battery cable has fired off, you'll need this battery cable to repair this and bring your E60 5 series sedan back online. This is a Genuine BMW repair designed specifically to address this issue.
