Genuine BMW Locking Button - 51478248015 - E46 & E46 M3

This part is listed by BMW as BMW part number 51478248015 (51 47 8 248 015) and is described as Genuine BMW Locking Button, as used on various E46 3 series (Sedan, Coupe and Convertible) and E46 M3 models.

This little black "plastic screw" fastener is used to secure various trunk trim in place. It's very common for these to get broken or lost, leaving your trunk trim moving around, causing noises, creaking, clicking, or unsightly visual dilemmas. 

The ones most commonly missing are the two that help secure the trim panel over the battery compartment on the E46 sedan/coupe/convertible models. But you may find them elsewhere in the car as well.
