Ready to stop struggling with your window net?
Want a window net mechanism designed in this century?
Like the idea of a window net kit designed by racers?
We took all we disliked about existing window net setups and tossed them out the… window.
We are BMW racers so this kit was designed chiefly for a BMW application. But it's also meant to be a universal fit and customizable to your application.
There is no perfect fit for a window net. The nets are universal so they're not sized for the window. And the mounting needs to be metal tabs welded to the cage bars, often where your helmet might make contact in a crash. There are permanent mounts for the bottom (hangs down) or the top (flips up) but neither is ideal. And we still see people using metal buckles from a 1980 Pontiac. No more.
Our window net mounting kit uses a fixed point in the top-rear that pivots down and away to the B-pillar. The base for this pivot is welded to your roll hoop. The bar is also spring-loaded and will insert into a tab welded to the front A-pillar bar.
The bottom bar is located with polyester straps around your door bars - one strap at each end. The bar is segmented so there are multiple places to locate the straps.
With the pivot point always at the top-rear the net and bars always fall to the same position and close to other accessories, hoses, and cables during a driver change. Reach back, swing the bar up, pop it into the forward tab, and you're off.
This kit is not designed around any particular chassis or model. The lengths of the upper and lower bar have been left long so you can cut to an ideal fit in your window. The upper bar is 24-29" long. The lower bar is 26-36" long. Tabs are included to weld to your roll cage. The tabs are designed to be cut to fit as tightly as possible to the cage and must be coped to match the roll cage bar diameter. Welding is required.
Note: the cage tabs must be cut for a snug and safe mounting to your bars. We left the tabs long to give you options. Cope (notch) the tabs to match the bar diameter.
