The 6mm hose fitting has been replaced with a new 8mm spec. This item listing has been discontinued but the 8mm is available from the Related Items list below. When buying the 8mm bottle you will swap the old 6mm fitting onto the new bottle so you don't have to change your lines (easy swap). See Related Items below for the new bottle.Note that changing the lines to 8mm is also an option but will require all new fittings. It's like installing a whole new system. Replacement AFFF bottle for Lifeline 2000 mechanical system. This bottle is setup for 6mm tubing, not the updated 8mm size.
The AFFF foam suppressant is a water-based liquid that coats surfaces, removing the ignition source and oxygen. The foam can only suppress what it is in sight so the position of the nozzles is critical. Once the fire is smothered the foam stays behind to prevent flare-ups. It works especially well on fuel and oil fires but not good at all for an electrical fire. Clean-up is easy as you can rinse surfaces clear but the chemical can be corrosive if left behind.
