Schuberth developed the SP1 for the very top levels of motorsport - F1, Le Mans, and NASCAR. Schuberth's 100 years of head protection experience delivers a helmet with unparalleled design and manufacturing. SP1 features a autoclave cured T700 carbon fiber shell handcrafted to provide a helmet combining light weight, solid construction, and superior safety in an iconic design. The same manufacturing done for F1 drivers is also applied to this SP1 helmet.
The base helmet does not include communications gear but several setups are available. Choose from right or left side connections, IMSA or MRTC connectors, and boom or integrated chin microphones. Ear pads are available for ear buds or speakers. All communication gear is sold separately.
Multiple visor options are available for purchase separately. The base helmet includes a slight mirror red tinted clear visor. Visors are 3mm thick injection molded and include a fog resistant lens. The bottom locking lever has two positions - vent and open. Tear-off posts are included and a adhesive rain visor is also available.
The shell was developed with the help of a wind tunnel for optimum aerodynamics and also includes 12 ventilation channels. Additional spoilers and vent scoops are available to customize the shell for your aero and circulation needs. SP1 is built with either a small or large shell - small shell weighs just 3.02lbs (1,370g), large shell weighs just 3.08lbs (1,400g).
Size Options. Measure from 1in above the eyebrows to the back of the head, creating the largest possible measurement. Remember to wear your head sock/balaclava or include your hair (don't measure under your hair). SP1 sizes:
Extra Small = 54cm (21.25in)
Small = 55cm (21 5/8in)
Medium = 57cm (22 7/16in)
Large = 58-59cm (22 13/16-23 3/16in) (uses small shell)
Large+ = 60-61cm (23 5/8-24in) (uses large shell)
Extra-Large = 62cm (24 3/8in)
XX-Large = 63cm (24 13/16in)
