This illuminated ///M3 logo Emblem Fits into the backrest the Left or Right front seat on F80 M3 Sedan for model years 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020.  

This part is currently listed by BMW as BMW part number 52109503038 and replaces the previous part number 52108058223. If you are switching from silver to black emblems the new part uses a shorter cable and requires cutting the wiring of your original silver emblem and installing a new connector to create an extension harness for the new emblem. The new connector and pins are included. 

If your seat back emblem no longer lights up on your original seat trim, this replacement emblem unit can be used to replace the failed seat back emblem, and get your "M3" logo lit up again. Many 2015-2017 models originally came with silver seat emblems.  This version is a direct replacement for the early-style silver emblem, making this black emblem a popular upgrade.
