This is the OEM rear shock mount used on 2003-2008 E83 X3 models. BMW call is a Guide Support and it mounts the top of the rear shock absorber to the X3 chassis. Rear shock mounts are a normal wear item and should be replaced with the shocks or sometimes on their own if there are any clunking sounds or thuds coming from the rear suspension. Too much play in the rubber mount can also cause shock absorbers to fail early.
This part is made by Lemforder - the original supplier to BMW for this rear shock mount as well as many other suspension components on your X3. It comes with a two year warranty.
