Front Tension Strut Bushing, Meyle HD - F10 528xi/535xi/550xi, F12/F13 640xi/650xi, F01/F02

Upper HD control arm bushing for F07/F10 528xi/535xi/550xi, F12/F13 640xi/650xi, F01/F02 740xi/750xi. This is the inner bushing used on the upper control arm, aka tension strut or thrust arm.

Meyle does away with the fluid-filled inner rubber bushing and installs a solid rubber mount instead. The Meyle HD rubber is slightly stiffer than a stock mount and very comparable to a stock upgraded rubber bushing. This gives you better handling, more precise steering, and longer bushing life with no downside in ride quality or cost. Worn bushings will affect the ride, handling, and steering of the car and can also cause clunking noises and vibrations. To restore steering precision and tight handling, replace control arm bushings at the first sign of wear. Because of the complexity of the front suspension it may be hard to pinpoint which bushing is causing issues.

This is the bushing only. These arms also use an inner bushing and an outer ball joint that may need replacing as well. The outer ball joints can only be purchased with a new control arm. See our other listings for complete control arm kits.

Note: the aluminum tension strut arm is only expected to receive one bushing change before the arm should be replaced. BMW techs are trained to add a punch mark on the inner edge of the bushing where it's pressed into the arm. If a punch mark is present BMW requires the arm be replaced. Pressing out/in another bushing may result in the clearance around the bushing to be too large or may crack the arm.
