These high-performance urethane bushings replace the stock bushings in the rear lower "Swing Arm" of the E39 5-series. BMW does not sell the inner bushings for this arm separately, forcing you to buy a new complete arm for over $500 per side! These bushings simply press into the arm after removing the old bushings to greatly extend the life of the original arm. And a lifetime warranty means you'll never have to pay for new bushings again!!!
Worn rear suspension bushings allow too much flex and deflection in the rear control arms. This leads to an unstable feeling, especially when cornering or applying the power. Add more power makes this feeling even worse as the stock rubber is just too soft. Eventually it breaks down and will fail altogether. Race cars use Delrin or aluminum for suspension bushings but these are too harsh for street use. Urethane slots inbetween the squishy rubber and solid materials to deliver more precision and performance without degrading Noise, Vibration, or Harshness. The firmer material keeps the alignment in check with less variation. The car feels more planted and confidence-inspiring.
These replacement bushings fit on multiple BMW swing arms (H-shaped lower control arms):
E39: 33326755471 and 33326755472
This pair of bushings replaces the
front bushings on these rear arms. The rear bushings are sold under part #PFR5-711-12.
