Front Right Control Arm, Aftermarket - E30 318i/325e/325i/M3

This front control arm (LCA) fits all E30 (except iX), E36 non-M, and Z3 non-M and is the a direct replacement for the factory arm. For serious track and race use we recommend Meyle HD arms or spherical bearings in place of the ball joints.

This E30 arm can also be used on E36 and Z3. The geometry is the same. The only major difference is the outer ball joint is designed to be easily replaced on the E36 arm but is sealed better in the E30 arm.

E30/E36 front control arms should be replaced every few years and more often if the car sees any track time. The ball joints wear out over time which introduces slop and play in the steering and handling as well as clunking noises. In extreme cases the ball joint can separate from the control arm which makes this as much of a safety issue as performance. An annual inspection should be done on the ball joints for excess play as well as the control arm itself for cracks.

This part is manufactured by an aftermarket supplier of European auto parts, including many suspension and steering components. While not carrying OEM status, this part follows the design of the original very closely and uses similar materials. An aftermarket part may even have the same TUV approval as its OEM counterpart. The brand may even be OEM to another manufacturer besides BMW. This aftermarket brand has a two year warranty - the same as Genuine BMW and OEM brands.
