Rear Shock Mount Upper Cupped Washer - E36, E83 X3

This is the cupped washer that sits on top of the rear shock mount on E36 and X3 models. This bowl-shaped washer is assembled above the rear shock mount with the top but above it. The cup shape is mounted facing up, like a bowl, so that the shock mount can rotate and twist below it. This part rarely fails but is subject to corrosion and possible cracking if the suspension has bottomed-out often. It's also overlooked or assembled upside down during re-assembly causing the shock mount to fail.
