It's used in a lot of BMW applications but most commonly for rear control arm bushing mounting bolts on the rear suspension of E36 3-series, E46 3-series, E83 X3, E85 Z4, E89 Z4, and others. This is a self-locking elliptical nut that can be re-used multiple times but is not a bad idea to replace during control arm or bushing replacement.
