Power Steering Cooler, ACM - E39 & Z8

This part is listed by BMW as BMW part number 17111141819 and is described as Genuine BMW Cooling Coil for E39 / E39 M5 / Z8. This is the fluid cooler used in the power steering system, and is the same part for all 1997-2003 5 Series including the E39 M5. It also fits the Z8 Roadster (and Z8 Alpina Roadster).

BMW calls this a radiator, which it is at a basic level. The cooler runs fluid from the steering rack back to the reservoir and is exposed to airflow to cool the fluid. Leaks here are fairly uncommon unless the pipes have been damaged impact, debris, or corrosion.
