This power steering pump is for cars WITHOUT the Active Steering or Dynamic Drive systems. If your BMW has active steering or dynamic drive, this is NOT the power steering pump for your car. 

Not for cars before the 2006 model year. BMW used an older/earlier engine prior to 2006, which uses a different power steering pump. This pump is only for 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 model years with the N52/N52N 3.0 liter 6 cylinder engine.
