Electric Steering Rack Motor (EPS), New - F25 X3 (non Variable Sport Steering)

New (not rebuilt) F25 X3 non-Variable Sport electric steering motor that goes far beyond cheap rebuilds. Electric power steering (EPS) failures can be electrical or mechanical in nature. EPS is not fully electric - the electric motor now drives the pump instead of the traditional engine belt and the rack still uses grease and lubricant for the internal mechanicals. EPS racks have sensors and a control unit that may also fail, overheat, or have communication issues. Using the on-board diagnostics is key to properly diagnosing a failed EPS rack or some other vehicle-related fault.

A vehicle simulation test using the BMW FlexRay network guarantees proper communication with the EPS electronics and verifies no diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) are present after the rebuild process. However, the new motor must be coded and aligned with the vehicle electronics using advanced diagnostic and service tools.
