Power Steering Pressure Hose, Aftermarket - E36 323i/328i

This part is listed by BMW as BMW part number 32411093461 (32-41-1-093-461) and is described as a Pressure Hose for Power Steering on E36 323i, 323is, 328i, 328is (1996, 1997, 1998, 1999).

This runs from the power steering pump to the steering rack. At either end is a hard metal line secured with a bolt and copper crush washer (sold separately). The hose has extra length so the system can have more fluid capacity. Unfortunately it has a lot fittings where rubber hose meets metal line. These fittings are compression crimp-style swage ("swedge") fittings that are very common in the automotive world. These swage fittings are the most common area for PS leaks on your BMW. It's easier to replace the entire line with a new OEM or BMW part than to try and repair the line.

This part is manufactured by an aftermarket supplier of European auto parts, including many hydraulic components. While not carrying OEM status, this part follows the design of the original very closely and uses similar materials. An aftermarket part may even have the same TUV approval as its OEM counterpart. The brand may even be OEM to another manufacturer besides BMW. This aftermarket brand has a two year warranty - the same as Genuine BMW and OEM brands.
