Tie Rod Assembly, Meyle - E30 318i/325e/325i/M3

This part is listed by BMW as BMW part number 32111126360 and is described as Tie Rod for the E30 3 series, 1984-1991 (including 1992 and 1993 3 series convertible, as well as all E30 M3). This includes all 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1990 and 1991 318i, 318ic, 325, 325e, 325es, 325i, 325is, E30 M3 and 318ic / 325ic convertible models into the 1992 and 1993 model years. 

E30 tie rod assemblies are made by for ultimate longevity and value. Often overlooked, the tie rod assembly on an E30 is absolutely crucial for optimal steering feel and overall safety of the vehicle. Once worn, it creates imprecise steering and can lead to a very unsafe situation. Worn tie rods with play or damage will fail most annual inspections, as they are a safety concern. 

For this reason, we suggest a close annual inspection* of the E30's inner and outer tie rod joints to check for play or damage, especially on a track-driven vehicle. We recommend replacing the tie rods as a complete assembly only,  as the inner and outer joints tend to have a similar service life.

This tie rods is sold as a complete assembly with locking nut. This can be used on either side of the car, either the left or right side (driver or passenger side). There are two of these per E30, so be sure to buy 2 if you are doing the job right. This is listed as BMW part number 32111126360 (32 11 1 126 360), which replaces the older / previous part number 32111125186 (32 11 1 125 186).

*Place the front of the vehicle on jack stands to remove load from the front wheels. Have someone hold each front tire at the 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock position and shake the tire back and forth while you feel the inner and outer joints for play. Any mount of play is too much and unsafe - replace immediately.
