Our sway bars for the F87 M2, F80 M3, and F82 M4 enhance the cornering performance by reducing body roll and weight transfer. These bars are made by Hotchkis in the USA - a leader in suspension manufacturing and tuning products. We tweaked the original Hotchkis F8X sway bars for more clearance in the rear - giving more space for rear coil overs and wider wheels.
Our sway bar package increases front/rear roll stiffness giving the car crisp quick turn-in response and balanced handling. Stock sway bars are set up for a lot of understeer and limited roll control. These sway bars give the driver the ability to rotate the car on corner entry and steer with the throttle when necessary. The dreaded under steer is reduced and the handling becomes comfortably neutral. These sway bars feature 7 different tuning rates via multiple end link positioning (see note below).
Front: 32mm hollow tubular, 4 way adjustable
Rear: 25.5mm hollow tubular, 3 way adjustable
Hotchkis sway bars are Made in the USA from high quality steel, CNC bent for precise fit, with greasable bushings, and are finished in a stealthy and durable anthracite powder coat.
Note: all F8X models have tight clearances from the sway bar to the rear axle boot and cover. Larger sway bars and lowered ride height will reduce this clearance and contact with the boot/cover is common.
Adjustable end links are very strongly advised with this kit to set adequate clearance at ride height and under suspension compression. Please see below for BimmerWorld recommended related items.
Technical Info on These Bars
Below are the percent of stiffness, versus the stock bars, based on which adjustment hole is used:
Front Bar: 100%, 125%, 140%, 160% (four positions)
Rear Bar: 165%, 185%, 200% (3 positions)
About GTMore
We raced the F82 M4 GT4 in IMSA and SRO series for six years, achieving multiple wins and podiums. But the GT4 was a homologated model - tightly regulated by the series to balance performance with its competitors. In the interest of parity they gave the M4 generous brakes and tire sizes but reigned in the horsepower - rules limited it to five power levels with the highest being 500 crank hp. Innovation and curiosity is in our DNA so we wondered: "How much more performance is left in the GT4 platform if we removed the series restrictions? Can we build a street M4 with more speed than the GT4?" And the GTMore idea was born... Click here for the full GTMore build.
